Red-headed step-child

In a conversation about the baby Jesus, and the reason for the season, the following statement came out of Ryan's mouth tonight at Target...

"I bet Joseph spanked Jesus... 'You're not my real dad!'"
(Lauren: hysterical laughter...)

    Sick.
    I've been thinking about this--did Jesus ever NEED to be spanked? Or was he some kind of robot-two-year-old who obeyed on the first time every time?? I can't imagine either scenario.

    And when Jesus left the door open, Joseph would yell, "Hey shut the door, were you born in a ba...never mind."
